    Quarterly Unstuck Church Report

Over the last couple of months, I’ve had the opportunity to facilitate the StratOp process with Centerpoint Church in Murrieta, CA, Cowboy Junction Church in Hobbs, NM, West Ridge Church in Dallas, GA, and The Woods Church in Warren, MI.

A StratOp, or strategic operating plan, helps churches and other organizations clarify their mission, vision, and core strategies—and then create the right structure and accountability to realize it through prioritized action initiatives. By clarifying strategy and developing action  initiatives, the process helps organizations determine what’s important now when it comes to fulfilling the mission and vision.

Doug Slaybaugh

Because of the demand for facilitating StratOps, I’m also excited to announce a new addition to our team. Doug Slaybaugh is a strategist, planner, and facilitator of ideas, people and organizations. Doug has spent nearly 30 years working with leaders and organizations in developing, organizing, facilitating and implementing leadership training and resources and has witnessed thousands attend conferences that he has produced.

For 14 of those years, he served with Rick Warren as part of Saddleback’s pastoral executive team and also served as President of Purpose Driven from its conception. Doug was involved with the development and launch of the popular program 40 Days of Purpose, based on the best selling book, The Purpose Driven Life.

For the last six years, Doug has been applying his experience and strategic talents with high capacity ministry leaders and organizations and is a partner of the Tom Paterson Center. Doug graduated from Huntington College with a degree in psychology and from Fuller Theological Seminary with a degree in theology. He has been married for over 33 years to his wife, Fay, and has three adult sons and one new daughter-in-law. He resides in North San Diego County in the beach village of Carlsbad, California.

It’s good to have Doug on the team. Now we’re even more prepared to help you close the strategic gap in your church. Contact me if you’d like to learn more about the strategic operating plan and this consulting engagement.
